gold jewelrySeveral days ago my sister called to ask if I had any plans on a gift for mom for her upcoming birthday.  I admitted that I had thought about it, but I hadn’t really made much progress, because mom has everything.  If she sees something she wants, she always buys it for herself.    I, in turn asked if she knew anything that mom wanted since she sees mom more than I do.    She said that she’d been out shopping with mom last week and that they’d stopped in at the jewelers to get a battery for dad’s watch when mom saw a beautiful piece of gold jewelry.  It was very expensive, but she did look at it and when they left the store she talked about how much she’d love to have a new piece of gold jewelry since it had been so long since she had something extravagant.    She said that evening she decided to look online and see if she could find something similar to the gold jewelry and she found almost an identical piece of gold jewelry for a fraction of the price.   She asked if I wanted to go in halves with her, and I didn’t have to think about it.  I said yes.   Mom is going to be thrilled with her new extravagance.
